The Carrelets are fishermen’s huts at Meschers sur Gironde placed on the wooden pillars, in height so as to be able to use a square fishing net. This term designates both nets and huts on stilts, also called fisheries. They are arranged along the coast, most often near cliffs or rocks.
You will find them between the port and the Conche de Cadet by the cliff, but also near the beaches of Meschers, like the famous Nun’s beach. These are private cabins.
