Royan Museum
The Royan museum is located in the old market of the Pontaillac district, the old museum having disappeared with the Palais de Foncillon during the bombardment of 1945. The Museum reconstructs, through its various collections, the history of the Royan region: he emergence of the city, the development of tourism, the Second World War, the post-war reconstruction, or the famous stay of Pablo Picasso in Royan.
But the museum also presents temporary exhibitions and a shop.
It is a short walk from Pontaillac beach and Royan casino, also located on Pontaillac beach. From the museum, you are a few minutes by car from the city of Royan and the seafront, but also from the big wheel, or the ferry crossing the Gironde to the Pointe du Verdon.
