The Aquarium in La Rochelle is one of the largest private aquariums in Europe, and has more than 12,000 marine animals, with a surface area of over 8,000 m².

It has several rooms, each with a different theme, as well as a tropical greenhouse to discover at the end of the course.

The aquarium also participates in awareness-raising actions, and has a Care and Study Center for marine turtles which takes care of stranded turtles.

The aquarium is ideally located near the maritime museum, the wooden town, and not far from the old port and its famous towers.
