The Suzac Forest at Saint Georges de Didonne is a coastal forest located between the municipalities of Saint Georges de Didonne and Meschers sur Gironde. It stretches along the Gironde estuary from the Pointe de Suzac, passing through Suzac beach, Arneche beach, to Vergnes beach.
The forest is partly owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral, and is made up of many maritime pines. It is maintained by ONF teams, who take care to cut down mature trees.
It is possible to go on hikes in the forest, along the coast and coastal paths, for example. But you can also ride mountain bike and take advantage of the many forest routes. At the entrance to the forest, near Saint Georges de Didonne, you will find the Parc de l’Estuaire, ideal for finding information on the Gironde estuary.
